東京音楽大学および同大学大学院音楽研究科を修了。市川市文化会館新人演奏家コンクール最優秀賞、大阪国際音楽コンクール第2位のほか、日本クラシック音楽コンクール、日本アンサンブルコンクールなどで入賞。講談社『月刊少年マガジン』連載の人気作品『四月は君の嘘』では、演奏音源提供およびヒロインの演奏モデルを担当し、作品のリアリティと魅力を支えた。
大学卒業後は古楽の分野に進み、東京藝術大学大学院修士課程（バロック・ヴァイオリン専攻）を修了。第30回国際古楽コンクール〈山梨〉第2位を受賞し、同委員会の推薦により栃木・西方音楽祭、古楽フェスティバル〈山梨〉などでリサイタルを開催。オリジナル楽器による演奏を中心に、オーケストラ・リベラ・クラシカ、バッハ・コレギウム・ジャパン、オルケストル・アヴァン=ギャルド、エクス・ノーヴォなどのアンサンブルに参加し、録音や公演を重ねている。
NHK-FM「古楽の楽しみ」やNHK「名曲アルバムプラス」への出演、リサイタルシリーズ『池田梨枝子と Basso Continuo』の開催、オリジナル楽器による弦楽四重奏《Just our two cents》の活動など、多方面にわたり古楽の魅力を発信。現在は《プロムジカ使節団》コンサートマスターとしても活躍し、2024年にはモーツァルトの未発表作品の日本初演を手がけるなど、新たな挑戦を続けている。
これまでにヴァイオリンを浦川宜也、故・山岡耕筰、中島郁子、植田しづか各氏に、バロック・ヴァイオリンを若松夏美、桐山建志両氏に師事。
Rieko Ikeda graduated from Tokyo College of Music and its graduate school, later completing her master’s degree in Baroque violin at Tokyo University of the Arts. She has received numerous awards, including First Prize at the Ichikawa City New Performer Competition and Second Prize at the Osaka International Music Competition. She also provided performance recordings and served as the model for the heroine’s violin scenes in the acclaimed manga Your Lie in April.
As a Baroque violinist, she won Second Prize at the Yamanashi International Early Music Competition and has appeared in leading period ensembles such as Orchestra Libera Classica, Bach Collegium Japan, and others.
Her media appearances include NHK-FM and NHK TV, and she leads the recital series Rieko Ikeda and Basso Continuo. She also founded the period string quartet Just our two cents and serves as concertmaster of Promusica Baroque Academy. In 2024, she gave the Japanese premiere of an unpublished work by Mozart.
